“Nagel Studios”

It began with a business problem. Baskin-Robbins could only afford product photography for point-of-purchase and advertising needs. Every month across our 2,400 locations the exterior and interior promotional elements changed and our photography budget was used for those needs. But the brand also had product photography needs for digital applications as well as for operational tests in shops all across the country. Because test products might not make it, the ROI of paying for a formal shoot just wasn’t there.

One morning I resolved that with a small investment in the right equipment, I could act as photographer for these various needs. It was 2015 and the equipment cost about $7,000. In six years, “Nagel Studios” shot over 800 products and saved the brand well over $500,000 in photography costs. It was so successful, our colleagues on Dunkin’ even utilized Nagel Studios.

Since leaving Baskin-Robbins, I expanded my studio and now offer product photography for hire.
